Scultura Italiana, NGV Melbourne

Exhibited at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne in Fall 2015 with other works from the archives, in collaboration with Rachel Simrose.

Inspired by the original exhibition catalogue and ephemera, this modern screen print and research document embraces the spirit of the 1971 exhibition assembled by Gaspero del Corso celebrating Italian sculpture.

Wake, Girl.

Textile

Wake, Girl is a self-portrait piece. It reflects a time and place, far and unfamiliar. Elephants are a symbol of remembrance and mark the pursuit of dreams. Inspired by a line from Eleanor Ross Taylor's poem "Painting Remembered". Hand-sketched and screen-printed during a season of wanderlust, these textiles backpacked through Asia with me. A reflection of myself that tackles mind vs. body and attachment to routines, memory, and the subconscious.
